Taste Harlem Food and Cultural Tours is a tour company created to offer unique tours of Harlem and New York. Daily tours will allow food, art and history enthusiasts to “taste Harlem.”We explore the unexplored spaces and places that are not typically listed in the tour guide books. Offerings include art tours with activity, Black and Hispanic heritage tours, in addition to gospel, jazz and dance workshops. Tours are also available in Spanish.

This jazz workshop is led by the saxophonist and saxophone designer from the movie “Friends with Benefits” featuring Justin Timberlake.Learn jazz theory with a basic understanding of chord changes and harmonies.The workshop ends with a performance and tour of a historic church with a 42-bell carillon in the tower. This largest of percussion instruments, manufactured in the Netherlands and installed in 1949, is the 2nd largest in New York City.

Experience the artistic genius of world renowned artist Romare Bearden through dance, music and art: On The Block –a dance performance by the Nanette Bearden Contemporary Dance Theatre based on the Bearden collage The Block. The event will consist of dance master class, performance and a Q & A with the choreographer and cast members. Schools will receive a complete written study/teacher’s guide with a synopsis of the performance, list of related historical figures, book list, and pre and post activities.

This historical tour will entail leaving New York City at 5am on Fridays near the Port Authority Bus Terminal – Arriving at a premier hotel in Geneva, New York by 11:10am for an early check-in and continental breakfast.
Day One - Friday
After a short rest, our first tour will begin at 2pm to a winery vineyard with wine and cheese and then back to the hotel by 5pm. Ending the day with an elegant dinner at 8pm to one the Fingers Lakes’ finest restaurant. Then back to the hotel for free time.
Day Two - Saturday
We begin our morning with a 7:30am continental breakfast. And then off to discover an era of time that changed our country forever!
Women’s Rights National Historical Park
We leave the hotel approximately 9:30am with a visit to Seneca Falls where the historical First Women’s Rights Convention began (1848). We discover how Elizabeth Cady Stanton and four other women changed the world! This tour includes the Women’s Rights Museum and some of the homes of these legendary women.
Seward House Museum
We visit the historic home of William H. Seward, who was the Secretary of State under President Abraham Lincoln, a silent abolitionist and who purchased the State of Alaska (called “Seward’s Folley”).
The Harriet Tubman House
We visit the home of Harriet Tubman, who preserves the legacy of “The Moses of Her People”. Here we discover where Harriet lived, and died in freedom.
The Harriet Tubman tour will end with a gourmet boxed lunch on the grounds of the Harriet Tubman Estate with a New York City departure at approximately 4:30pm – arriving in New York City at approximately 10-10:30pm.
Young Persons Package Option
This package is the same as Tour Package #8 with the exception of the wine vineyard tour. This tour will include either a tour of the Earth Museum in Ithaca, NY and other historical aspects of Ithaca, New York, the home of Cornell University. Or a boat ride from Watkins Glen, the home of the NASCAR races up to Geneva, New York on Seneca Lake.
